Family Dolphin Retreat

July 13-19 2025

with Amber Herzog Lyman

This unique family-friendly retreat will share the joy and presence of being face-to-face with some of the most playful, intelligent, gregarious beings in our oceans.

Amber Herzog Lyman has been ocean swimming and adventuring with her kids (age 9 and 12) since before they could walk, and their family is excited to welcome you for a week of discovery and fun in the warm turquoise waters of Bimini!

Being up-close with dolphins can open us to a wider way of experiencing our own consciousness and communication, expand our perception of language, and open new pathways of connection with nature and family. Becoming immersed in the dolphins’ myriad sounds, sensing their communication, and interacting with them as they hunt, feed and frolic is an unforgettable and life-changing experience.

This retreat week will feature:

  • Skills and techniques to help dive deep into dolphin communication and consciousness
  • Special screening of Amber’s 2020 documentary “Ocean Souls” with a group chat to digest and integrate how much dolphins think and feel like we do
  • Guided kids’ groups for play and pod bonding
  • Optional yoga and meditation sessions

This gathering is for families, friend groups & individuals, suited to a wide range of ages and ocean abilities.

About Amber

As an ocean advocate, explorer, guide and performer, Amber Herzog Lyman thinks, writes, and dreams from inside whale and dolphin consciousness. Her films, poetry and music emphasize emotion, empathy and sound healing rooted in wild experience: 20 years of wildlife field research and tribal exchanges studying the evolution of inter-species culture and communication across three oceans and 38 countries.

On her 2023 album “Listen Deep,” Amber weaves together poetry and song with specialized whale and dolphin recordings from MBARI to invite a reverent return to reciprocal relationship with Earth and Ocean. Her writing narrates the 2020 documentary OCEAN SOULS, winner of 16 international awards, and her poetry was featured in the sonic immersion live show SOUNDS OF THE OCEAN at global events including COP 26 Glasgow, COP 27 Egypt, and World Oceans Day at UN Headquarters.

As early as 1985, Amber wanted to BE a dolphin, and has been practicing ever since. Find out more about Amber on her website.

About the WildQuest Team

We will be going out on the boat each day to connect with the dolphins. Usually we have a picnic lunch on the boat. We will also visit the Atlantis Stones and snorkel at coral reefs.

Everything is optional – participate if it feels right for you. There will also be some free time to relax on the beach and explore the island.

Individual massage sessions are available.
